FAIRFAX, VA – ISI Professional Services (ISI) is proud to announce it has been recognized by DAV (Disabled American Veterans) for its efforts to recruit, hire and retain military veterans. DAV is a more than century old national organization that empowers veterans and their families to lead fulfilling lives with respect and dignity, which often begins with meaningful employment. The charity recognizes employers dedicated to this mission through its DAV Patriot Employer Program.

Founded in Fairfax, Virginia, over 30 years ago, ISI is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business providing federal and commercial clients a range of consulting services and project solutions. President and CEO Chris Lefebvre, a Marine Corps veteran, has made hiring, retaining and supporting veterans an essential part of the company’s mission and culture.

“At ISI, we know veterans can be as effective in the board room as they can be on the battlefield,” Lefebvre said. “Their problem-solving mentality, commitment to excellence, and sense of responsibility are invaluable assets to our team and to our clients. Additionally, as a veteran myself, it is incredibly fulfilling to help other veterans transition from the military to the private sector and to position them as leaders in the civilian workplace.”

ISI recruiters have partnerships with veteran job boards and transition programs to ensure ISI maximizes its veteran outreach. ISI recruiters also examine veterans’ backgrounds more deeply to help candidates translate their military experience to the skills required for open positions, a common but unnecessary roadblock for many veterans and employers. All managers and recruiters are also trained on interviewing techniques to ensure they can more effectively engage with military veterans.

As part of its 2023 strategic goals, ISI established a Veteran Impact Program (VIP) led by Veteran Impact Officer (VIO) Rob Mooney, a retired Army veteran and ISI’s senior recruiter. Through its VIP, ISI’s goal is to create a culture of safety, diversity and inclusion and make veterans aware of personal and professional pathways to success within the company and community.

In addition, ISI established the “12-Month Journey for Veteran New Hires,” a program providing each newly hired veteran with targeted communications and activities during their first year on the job, including mentoring and volunteering opportunities. Veterans also have access to the VIO and other veteran staff through an active veterans’ resource group.

ISI’s leadership is also committed to supporting veterans in the larger community. Lefebvre is a long-standing member of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition (NVSBC), which provides training, networking and advocacy for veteran small business founders. He has also served as a speaker and mentor with various organizations serving veteran entrepreneurs. Additionally, ISI Chief Operating Officer, Corey New, regularly supports the Train Vets to Treat Vets program at William James College in Boston, Massachusetts, where he facilitates a group of graduate and doctorate students aspiring to support veterans in their mental health careers.

“ISI Professional Services’ dedication to veterans goes above and beyond meeting hiring goals,” said DAV National Adjutant and CEO Marc Burgess. “The company and its leadership have proven that they understand and appreciate the value veterans bring to the workplace. More than that, ISI has invested in veterans’ success—both professionally and personally. DAV is proud to recognize ISI as a Patriot Employer and hopes other employers take note.”
